Chapelry History[edit | edit source]
LONGSIGHT, a chapelry in Manchester parish, Lancashire; on the Manchester and Stockport railway, 2 miles SW of Manchester. It was constituted in 1854. The church was repaired in 1869, and is excellent. A Wesleyan chapel was built in 1869.[1]
By 1885 there were three chapelries serving this township--all attached to and standing within the ancient parish of Manchester (Cathedral), Our Lady, St George and St Denys.
