County Information

Description

Logan County was named for Dr. John Logan, a pioneer physician who emigrated to the United States from Ireland. He was an Illinois State Representative and the father of General John Alexander Logan. The county was organized on February 15, 1839 and its seat is Lincoln.[1] Logan County is located in the central area of the state.[2]
