History

Layde, is a parish in the union of Ballycastle, barony of Lower Glenarm, county Antrim, and province of Ulster. The parish comprises exclusively of the Granges of Layde and Innispollan.

In Roman Catholic divisions the parish is the head of a district, called Cushendall including this parish and Ardclinis, and containing chapels at Cushendall and Redbay.

The ancient church is in ruins, but the cemetery is still used.

Civil Registration
