Question 1: Some indexed records have event place or date errors. How can I determine the correct information?
Answer 1: View the document to verify the correct information. The event place and date can also be checked by searching the Catalog using the film number included in the record detail page. See Use the FamilySearch catalog . A list of known problems below provides correct indexing information:

  • Batch M51763-1, Film 216832 is incorrectly indexed as Event Place: Lincoln, England. The correct Event Place is Lincoln, Kentucky.
  • Film 1943694 associated with Clark County, Kentucky, Film 1480747 associated with Kane County, Illinois, and Film 1004531 associated Franklin County, Kentucky contain indexed records with an Event Place: Illinois.
