Isycoed is a village, community and ecclesiastical parish in the Wrexham, Wales.

Before 1974 the village was in the historic county of Denbighshire and, between 1874 and 1996 in the County of Clwyd. In 1996 it became part of the modern Wrexham.

Note: Isycoed should not be confused with two nearby places with similar names: Iscoyd and Bangor is y Coed.

History

The ecclesiastical parish Isycoed was formed in 1827, comprising the former Gresford townships of Cacca Dutton, Dutton Diffaeth, Dutton y Bran, Ridley, and Sutton. Isycoed was in the English Diocese of Chester until 1849, when it was transferred to the Welsh Diocese of St. Asaph.
