Třeboň Regional Archives Instructions
Finding Parish Records in the Třeboň Regional Archives
Step-by-Step Instructions
Třeboň Regional Archive made their parish registers available through its digital archive with an English interface.
- 1. Go to: Digital Archives, State Regional Archives Třeboň.
- 2. Choose the type of registers according to religion.
- 3. When you click on a religion, another drop-down list will show available parishes. In the Catholic records, you will find a drop-down alphabet. Clicking on a letter will produce one more drop-down list with parishes.
- 4. Click on the parish name. A list of records will explain their holdings. It will be in English and easy to read. In the column "Time Extent", B means births and baptisms, M means marriages, and D means deaths and burials.
- 5. Clicking on the register description in the first column will open the file to the images you will search.
- 6. Search the collection by image, comparing the information with what you already know about your ancestors to determine which one is your ancestor. You may need to compare the information about more than one person to make this determination.
- 7. If indexes are available in the images, check these for the name first. Indexes are usually located at the beginning of a group of images or at the end. They can also be found in individual folders. Find your ancestor's name and look for the locator information next to the name (such as page, entry, or certificate number). This will help you find the record you are looking for in the collection.
- 1. Go to: Digital Archives, State Regional Archives Třeboň.
