Greenland is an island autonomous country within the Danish Realm in the Atlantic Ocean whose nearest neighbors are Canada and Iceland. The official language is Greenlandic (Kalaallisut).[1]

Church records were kept on the parish level were used to register births, deaths, and marriages Greenland. Beginning in 1924, civil registration of births, marriages, and deaths began to be kept on a national level also.
