Quick History
Golden is an old mining ghost town, in the Park Valley area of Box Elder County.[1] A couple of silver and ore with gold strikes gave the area the name of Golden. [2] The mines were the Century Mine and the Vipont Mine. The mines closed in the 1907 time period only to have Vipont reopen in 1920. By the 1940's the ore ran dry and the town closed down.[3]

Time Line
- 1899-1900 Golden was established as the central town for a few mines.
- 1907 The slowing economy caused the closer of several mines. The miners left.
- 1910 A slight resurgence when a few mines were reopened.
- 1920 The Vipont mine has a new vain of silver and a slight boom happens.
- 1930 Mined steadily until the Great Depression.
- 1940's Mining slows until it gradually stops.[4]
