Surrogate's Court
The Surrogate's court is established in every county and hears cases involving the affairs of decedents, including the probate of wills and the administration of estates, guardianships, and adoptions.[1]
The Surrogate's Court exists in every county in the State and handles all matters, relating to wills, estates and property of deceased persons. Surrogate's Court also handles guardianships of an infant, under the age of 18 or of a mentally retarded or incapacitated adult.[2]
