This collection contains index & images of church records from the county of Turku-Pori, Finland. Indexed records include baptisms, communion lists, marriages, and burials. Communion records list the inhabitants of a parish by village, farm, and household. The head of the household appears first and other household members next. Additional records and/or images may be added to this collection in the future.

I Can’t Find the Person I’m Looking For, What Now?[edit | edit source]

  • Try searching by surname only
  • The person may be recorded with an abbreviated or variant form of their name
  • Remember that spelling was generally not standardized until the early part of the 20th century
  • Check the parish registers to see if the individual died or moved to another parish.
  • The person recording the information may have recorded the person with their name in Swedish or Finnish. Make sure you look for both forms of the name.
