Instructions
- Go to the task list and open Part 22.
- Place your name next to the town that you want to edit.
- Click on the link to take you to the town page.
- Click on the Edit Source button at the top of the page.
- We have pasted the new template on top of the old one, so we will want to move the information left over from the old template onto the new template. Look for the second Town Clerk heading. This is the beginning of the old template.
- Move any information that is in the old template to the correct heading above. If there is any information under a heading that is not on the new template or if you are not sure where a certain piece of information should go, yammer Taylor.
- If you have town reports under the old Vital Records section, there will be a special way to move these. First below Death in the new template add the following code:
====Town Reports====
- Then copy all of the information under the old Vital Records section and paste it under the new Town Reports heading that you just made.
- Once you have moved all the information from the old template to the new template delete everything from the first heading of the old template to the second References heading. You should stop before {{reflist}}.
- Click the Show preview button to make sure that everything looks good. If you moved everything correctly, the table of contents should look like the following:
- If something is wrong fix it before moving on. If everything was done correctly, write Removing old template in the summary box, and then save the page.
- Place the date you finished the town page on the task list and move on to the next town.
