FamilySearch Wiki:WikiProject New Collections for Montana



Purpose

These four new collections need to be added to all county pages in Montana, USA.

NOTE: You can scroll through tabs on Google Sheets. Next to the first tab, there are four lines stacked vertically. If you click that, you can see a complete list of all tabs on the Google Sheet. Additionally, next to the last tab, there are right and left arrows that you can click to scroll through.

Beginning Instructions

There are four new collections that need to be added separately to county pages in Montana, USA.

1. You will need to sign up for a county under a collection title tab on the Task List.
2. Go to the instructions for the specific collection below.



Montana, U.S., Birth Records, 1897-1988

Step One

Sign your name next to a county on the Montana, U.S., Birth Records, 1897-1988 tab of the task list.

Step Two

Go to Montana, United States Genealogy and click your county you signed up for.

Step Three

In the contents, select Birth under Vital Records. This should jump you down to the Subheading Birth. You can also just scroll down to this subheading.

Step Four

  • Click Edit Source next to Birth.



  • Copy the following code and paste it in order according to date range:

  • Click Show Preview to make sure it looks good.



  • Enter in "/* Birth */ New Collections Project" as the Summary.

Montana, U.S., Marriage Records, 1943-1988

Step One

Sign your name next to a county on the Montana, U.S., Marriage Records, 1943-1988 tab of the task list.

Step Two

Go to Montana, United States Genealogy and click your county you signed up for.

Step Three

In the contents, select Marriage under Vital Records. This should jump you down to the Subheading Marriage. You can also just scroll down to this subheading.

Step Four

  • Click Edit Source next to Marriage.



  • Copy the following code and paste it in order according to date range:

Step Two

In the contents, select Divorce under Vital Records. This should jump you down to the Subheading Divorce. You can also just scroll down to this subheading.

Step Four

  • Click Edit Source next to Divorce.



  • Copy the following code and paste it in order according to date range:

Step One

Sign your name next to a county on the Montana, County Voting Records, 1884-1992 tab of the task list.

Step Two

Go to Montana, United States Genealogy and click your county you signed up for.

Step Three

In the contents, select Other Records. This should jump you down to the Subheading Other Records. You can also just scroll down to this subheading.

Step Four

  • Click Edit Source next to Vital Records.



  • Copy the following code and paste it under any other records already under Divorce. This will create a new subheading on the page:
