FamilySearch Wiki:WikiProject Guatemala Municipality Pages to English
Purpose
We've done a lot of editing to the Guatemala locality pages in the Spanish Wiki, but we unfortunately do not have those available in the English Wiki yet. This project will add the content from the Spanish Wiki pages, translate them into English, and make them also available to English speakers.

Instructions
Step 1 - Open Guatemala in Spanish and English
1. Open both the page for Guatemala in English and the page for Guatemala in Spanish.
2. Scroll down to the Map of Guatemala section on each page. Click on the first Province you wish to work on. Notice that in the Department page, all the Municipality links are red.
3. Click on the first red link to create the page.
4. Open the same respective page in the Spanish Wiki in a separate tab/window.

5. Copy the following code and paste into the blank English Wiki page:

Step 3 - Edit Code
6. Replace the words in all caps with their respective term.
- e.g. [[DEPARTMENT NAME Department, Guatemala Genealogy|DEPARTMENT NAME]] becomes [[Alta Verapaz Department, Guatemala Genealogy|Alta Verapaz]]
- Note: for the Links under the Civil Registration and the Parish Records sections, make sure to catch both the COLLECTION URL as well as the TITLE OF RECORD COLLECTION.
7. For the History section, copy the text for each Spanish bullet point and put it in Google Translate.
- Review the translation and make sure there are no errors.
- Copy the English Translation and paste it in respective bullet points in the new code.
- Add and subtract bullet points as needed. Bullet points are created using an asterisk.
8. For the Reference in the History section, make sure to keep the Spanish Wikipedia article name and link with their original name.
- Translate the visited date into English in an international format (e.g. 26 May 2017).
9. Make sure any diacritic marks stay the same.
10. IMPORTANT: Make sure to add the page names to the Language Link included at the bottom of step 2.
