5. If you are using Google Chrome (strongly recommended), right-click on the Portuguese Wiki page, and click "Translate to English". This will help you navigate the information better. The Portuguese page headings will be referred to in these instructions as their rough translations appear using the "Translate to English" feature on Google Chrome.
- Note: You may have to use the Google Translate icon in the URL bar to translate the Portuguese page back and forth (see image below).
From here, look for these "Portuguese" and "English" labels. This will indicate whether the text you move over to the new, English Wiki page should be in English or whether the original Portuguese words should be preserved.
6. TEMPORARILY SKIP THIS STEP English: Copy and paste over the History information from the Portuguese page into the English page under the "History" heading (see example screenshot below step 8).
7. English: Any information in the "Dates" (Datas) heading (usually near the top of the Portuguese page) needs to be added to the History section of the English page, wherever you feel is appropriate in the flow of the pre-existing History information.
8. Portuguese: If there is information under the "Old Denominations" (Antigas Denominações) heading on the Portuguese page, it needs to be added to the History heading of the English page. Underneath the History information, add the following code, and then populate it with the respective information:

11. Portuguese: Any information for "Civil Registry Offices" (Cartórios de Registro Civil, Notas e similares) in Portuguese needs to be added to the Local Offices heading under "Civil Registration" on the English page.
- NOTE that the Portuguese title of the office and the address have been preserved, but the word for "Telephone" has been translated into English for the English page.
12. Portuguese: Any similar information for "Religious Record Locations" (Locais de Registros Religiosos) in Portuguese needs to be added to the Local Churches heading under "Church Records" on the English page.
- Note: use the Civil Registration examples above for formatting reference.
13. Portuguese: Any information under "Other Sites and Institutions" (Outros Locais e Instituições) on the Portuguese page needs to be added to the Other Institutions heading on the English page.
- NOTE that the Portuguese titles of the offices and the addresses have been preserved, but the formatting for "Telephone", "Email", etc. have been standardized.
14. Portuguese: If there is any information in the "Cemeteries" (Cemitérios) heading on the Portuguese page, add it to the Cemeteries heading on the English page.
- Note: for address/contact information formatting, follow the Manual of Style and those shown above.
15. On the Portuguese page, "Edit source" under the "Referências" heading at the bottom. Copy any code in this section of the Portuguese page, and paste it into the References heading of the English page.
16. Replace everything in all CAPS on the English page with the respective information.
- "MUNICIPALITYNAME" needs to be replaced with the name of the municipality
- "STATENAME" needs to be replaced with the name of the state of Brazil you're working on
- "PAGENAME" needs to be replaced with the full name of the page.
