Historical Background
61.4% of the population is Roman Catholic,[88] though in recent years a number of Protestant churches have been established.[citation needed] About 10–12% of the population belongs to one of the Seventh-Day (Saturday) denominations, which includes Yahweh Congregation, Church of God (Seventh-Day), and the Seventh-day Adventist Church. [1]

Digital Copies of Church Records in the FamilySearch Catalog
Watch for digitized copies of church records to be added to the collection of the FamilySearch Library. Some records might have viewing restrictions, and can only be viewed at a FamilySearch Center near you, and/or by members of supporting organizations. To find records:
- a. Click on the records of Dominica.
- b. Click on Places within Dominica and a list of towns will appear.
- c. Click on your town if it appears, or the location which you believe was the parish which served your town or village.

The Catholic Church in Dominica is part of the worldwide Catholic Church, under the spiritual leadership of the Pope in Rome. 61.4% of Dominica's population of 73,449 are Catholic.[1] The entire country is under the jurisdiction of a single diocese, the Diocese of Roseau.[2][3]
