The area was united in the Middle Ages within the "Sette Pievi delle Giudicarie" administrative structure, suggesting habitation well before that.
Jurisdictions:
- Middle Ages: Under the dominion of the Prince-Bishop of Trento, but with partial administrative autonomy through the Sette Pievi. A bishop captain resided in the Castle of Stenico.
- Habsburg Period: Remained under Habsburg rule.
- Post-WWI: Became part of the Italian state.
Major events:
- 19th Century: Several towns in the municipality were destroyed by fires: Vergonzo (November 1859), Bono (July 16, 1860), and Lundo (July 11, 1864).
- 1850-1950: Significant emigration from the towns to Northern Europe, Argentina, and the United States.
- Prior to the merger: Lomaso and Bleggio Inferiore formed the "Union of the Municipalities of Bleggio Inferiore and Lomaso." (The date of this union is not specified.)[1]
