Clones is a market town, post town, and a parish that is partly in the barony of Clonkelly, county of Fermanagh, and partly in the baronies of Monaghan and Dartry, county of Monaghan, province of Ulster. The parish is a rectory and vicarage in the diocese of Clogher.
There is a Presbyterian house of worship at Stonebridge and also there are places of worship for Wesleyan and Primitive Methodists.
