Probably inhabited in Roman times. Assumed importance starting from the 12th century.

Jurisdictions:

  • 12th century, part of the fiefdom of Fanna, granted by the patriarch of Aquileia to the lords of Polcenigo.
  • 1419, annexed to the Republic of Venice.
  • 1806, part of Napoleonic Italy, municipality of the Tagliamento Department.
  • 1815, included in the Lombard-Veneto Kingdom, province of Friuli.
  • 1959, Colle was detached from Cavasso and assigned to Arba.

Major events:

  • 1976, devastated by the Friuli earthquake, causing significant damage. [1]
