History

Human settlements in the territory of Casarsa are documented from the Lower Bronze Age and the Iron Age. In Roman times, there was a stable human settlement in the western part of the municipality.

Jurisdictions:

  • Casarsa was under the dependence of the Abbey of Sesto al Reghena. San Giovanni depended directly on the Bishop of Concordia.
  • Part of the Patria del Friuli, then followed the fate of the Republic of Venice.
